Naco is a census-designated place (CDP) in Cochise County, Arizona, United States. Its population was 1,046 at the 2010 census. It is across the United States–Mexico border from Naco, Sonora. The Naco port of entry is open 24 hours per day. The present-day town of Naco, Arizona, was established in the early 20th century. The area was originally settled by Opata Indians. ''Naco'' means "nopal cactus" in the Opata language. Naco remains the home of "PermaRook."
